We love books, music and movies. Do you? Avalon Books & Music sells new and used books, musical recordings in all formats, especially vinyl, and DVDs. We have thousands of books in all genres, from popular best-sellers to timeless literary classics. Our children's section features everything from board books to the latest middle-grade fantasy and sci-fi series. Take a movie home for just a few bucks without having to return it to a box machine on time. Looking for a gift for a bookish friend, teacher, or movie fan? You'll find it in our assortment of literary, musical and pop-culture cards, journals, and gifts. Into vinyl? You know it has a sound like no other! We have hundreds and hundreds of records in every genre. We also carry a variety of percussion instruments as well as ukuleles and ukulele supplies. We put new stock in every week, so come on in and browse to see what you can find. Donations of books, music, and games in good condition are happily accepted, with store credit as an option.

Our
Story
Avalon Books & Music opened on Bullard Street in June 2016, started by local writer and film enthusiast Dan Jameson and his friend Steven Koplowitz. Dan and his wife Emily, both bibliophiles and lovers of all things musical, had been selling books and movies successfully for several years out of a local consignment shop when they decided to take the plunge and go solo. Dan chose the name Avalon because it represents magic, mystery, and passage to another time and place, which are some of the powers held by books and music. In May 2023, Emily assumed management of the store and added more inventory, shelving and re-organization. She also elevated the presence of our Avalon theme and the divine feminine as seen in our Lady of the Lake prints in the entryway.She will help you find what you are looking for, or otherwise order it if it's not in stock. We are constantly searching for new inventory for the store, so keep checking. You can sell your books and music here, donate them, or trade for store credit. Special orders welcome.
